Jonathan is currently a lecturer at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology at the Department of Retail Business Management and is currently the acting Chair of the CPUT wholesale and Retail Leadership Chair. His specific area of research focus is small business, e-learning and financial management. He has worked in senior financial, operational and development capacities for development finance institutions and listed companies such as the Development Bank of Southern Africa, Ithala bank, Santam and Media 24 for more than 25 years where he was involved in forecasting, development of financial modelling and other strategic financial activities, in addition he served as head of operations of Khula Enterprise Finance Limited a Department of Trade and Industry initiative to support SMME with financial products. An opportunity through Media 24 lead him to venturing into an own business in financial services and telecommunication through a management buyout which he successfully ran for 12 years as the forerunner to intermediation and comparative e- commerce platforms in financial services sector.

Jonathan has a master’s degree in business management, A Bachelor of laws and a Postgraduate diploma in teaching as part of his resume and has been published in numerous finance and e-learning related international publications in addition to supporting numerous e-learning initiatives and qualifications development at public and private universities.
